Our Services
Acting as a Professional deputy
We can be instructed to act as a Property and Finances Deputy for someone who does not have the mental capacity to deal with their finances. This means we apply to the Court of Protection for a Deputyship Order which, once granted, means we take responsibility for the person’s property and finances. We can be asked to be Deputies by the Local Authority, or by family members or friends. The application process is rigorous, and all Deputies are supervised by the Office of the Public Guardian. We file an Annual Report to the OPG to show how we have made financial decisions and give an overview of the person’s finances.
Supporting someone to apply for a Deputyship themselves
Sometimes a family member or friend might want to apply to be a Deputy for their loved one but might not know where to start. The application process can be onerous with many long forms to complete. We know this can be daunting so we offer a support package where we will complete the necessary paperwork and “manage” the process for you from start to finish. We will not be the Deputy ourselves but will support you to become the Deputy for your loved one.
Information and Support Services
Deputyship Orders can be difficult to navigate and sometimes you just need to be able to ask a professional for help. We offer information and support to anyone who has (or would like) a Deputyship Order. Our experience means there is very little we haven’t seen before.
